Blizzard’s ‘World of Warcraft Legion’: What’s to come?
Like most of the game’s expansions, “Legion” will have new dungeons and raids to take part in, 10 more levels to grind out, and a new continent to explore called The Broken Isles. Unlike the previous expansion, “Warlords of Draenor,” there will be a new playable class known as the demon hunter, whose role will be to deal and tank high amounts of damage. It comes as a surprise that Blizzard’s adding another melee damage dealer that can tank, since the last class added, the monk, also filled this role.
There are plenty of new features being added, but many “World of Warcraft” fans would also like changes to a variety of components implemented in the previous expansion. “Warlords of Draenor” had an interesting element that allowed players to build their own personal garrison. For being the player’s personal fortress, the garrison had very few customization options, so adding additional aesthetic choices could help grow this feature.
The previous expansion also added the battleground “ashran” that was instantly disliked in the “World of Warcraft” community. There were issues with the battleground being very buggy and some players would have to wait hours to get in and join the fight. With the release of “Legion,” many fans are hoping ashran gets completely revamped. If Blizzard wants to avoid similar disasters in the next expansion, they will need to closely analyse the newest player versus player zones before the game’s release.
Blizzard has yet to announce a release date for “Legion,” but if the company follows the trends of previous “World of Warcraft” expansions, it will be available for purchase by August 2016.
