Chia Seeds Make Our Hearts Happy — and Our Souls
Chia seeds have gained popularity in the nutrition world for a few years now. Chia seeds are known to provide many nutritional benefits, including antioxidants, fiber, quality protein, and omega-3 fats.
Of course, these little seeds aren’t really something you want to be snacking on by themselves, so instead we have collected a few of our favorite chia seed recipes to help you get the full benefit out of chia seeds.
Chia Seed Pudding. This pudding is very similar to tapioca and has a little crunch. You can top it off with your favorite nuts or fruits. We found a great recipe from Moon Juice Venice that calls for chia seeds, almond milk, honey, and vanilla. Check out the recipe here and their easy instructions to make your own at-home healthy chia seed pudding.
Chia Seed Muffins. If you have kids at home or are looking for a quick snack to take into work, this is the recipe for you. Muffins are great, delicious treats, and since they don’t need to be refrigerated, they are perfect for anyone who is on the go. Our favorite recipe is this Banana Berry Nut Muffin from the Washington Post. Along with having the health benefits of chia seeds, this recipe is gluten free as well. Check out the recipe here, and get cooking.
Chia Seed Cookies. Who said healthy can’t be tasty? This chocolate chip cookie recipe from Melangery.com is full of all sorts of healthy goodies — including chia seeds, flax seeds, and hemp seeds — all in the gooey goodness of a chocolate chip cookie. We are convinced this is the best thing to happen, and we are sure you will, too. Check out the recipe here, and let us know below how you liked the cookies.
Chia Seed Soup. Cool soups are an underrated delicacy, especially if done right. Chiapet.com has a quick and easy cucumber and avocodo soup recipe with chia seeds that is absolutely divine. Along with being delicious, it is super easy to make. In total, it takes just 10 minutes and no cooking at all; what could be better than that? Try it out for yourself, here, if you want to add a special spice, we recommend adding some red pepper flakes, as well.
