NYC Has Got Some Serious Talent Touring Through This Summer & Fall

Shout-out to all you fellow New Yorkers out there! It can be hard to keep track of all of your favorite bands who are on tour in the near future. For your convenience, here is a list of a few upcoming NYC shows for some amazing musicians that you do not want to miss!

Ingrid Michaelson – July 30th

Ingrid Michaelson is playing SummerStage in Central Park at 5:00 p.m. on July 30! Sounds like a good day to me! Her sweet, light, airy vocals matched with her sweet, clever, writing make great late afternoon chill music.

The Griswolds – August 16

The Griswolds are a great up-and-coming band who are currently on tour in the Midwest and are making their way back over to NYC! Catch them in Brooklyn at a very hip venue — Brooklyn Bowl. Listen to them open for Miniature Tigers, and go bowling at the same time!

Arcade Fire – August 22

Arcade Fire is playing a show at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn! They are a great alt/indie band that always put on a dynamic and visually interesting show. They wrote an excellent score for the movie “Her,” which earned them an Oscar nomination, and their latest album, “Reflektor,” is edgy, other-worldly goodness.

Passenger – August 10

Passenger is playing SummerStage in Central Park on Rumsey Playfield. He has a very original sound; his songs are very simple, usually only with the acoustic guitar for accompaniment. Yet his vocals are so unique, that he is set apart from many others in the indie singer/songwriter genre.

Grouplove and Portugal. the Man – September 16

Catch Grouplove and Portugal. the Man, also at SummerStage in Central Park on September 16 starting at 5:00 p.m. These are two amazing indie/rock bands that are appearing together — definitely worth seeing, especially in person — tickets starting at $45!

The Black Keys and Cage the Elephant – September 23

Cage the Elephant, a gritty rock/alt band with a retro vibe is opening for The Black Keys on September 23 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn! You don’t want to miss this incredible combination of musicians. General admission tickets start at $45 on Ticketmaster! Hurry up and get your tickets!

Delta Spirit – September 30

Delta Spirit is playing a very cool venue, The Mercury Lounge down on East Houston Street, September 30. They are a very versatile band that ranges from very mellow and ethereal to grunge rock. You’ll want to see them in person; they’re great live!

Lykke Li – October 4

Lykke Li is going to be at Radio City Music Hall October 4th! Although these tickets may be a little more pricey, the show would definitely be worth it. You may know her from her song, “I Follow Rivers,” which is a great, (if not overplayed) song off of her 2011 album, “Wounded Rhymes.” She is now touring for her latest 2014 album, “I Never Learn.” Lykke Li is an amazing Swedish indie/pop singer backed by an interesting arrangement of quirky electronic accompaniment.

Bastille – October 9

Bastille, of the recently popularized song “Pompeii,” is touring to support their latest album “Bad Blood.” They are a rare band that fuels their performances with pure, unadulterated talent and minimal showmanship. They have only recently been brought to fame and you can see their passion for music reflected in their humble yet moving performance. They will be performing at Radio City Music Hall on October 9th. Ticket prices on ticketmaster are starting at $35, but move quickly before they sell out!
