Mark Your Calendars: Labor Day Weekend Concerts

It is the middle of August, and you cannot seem to get those annoying back-to-school commercial jingles out of your head. Alas, you still have a couple weeks to go before the grind of school and work begins, so why not soak up your last rays of sun while enjoying some funky tunes?

 

Electric Zoo music festival in NYC (wegotthiscovered.com)

Electric Zoo is New York City’s premiere electronic music festival and is returning to the city on Labor Day weekend. The weekend is packed full of pulsing electronic music, great DJ’s, and unlimited opportunities to get your boogie on. This years headliners include David Guetta, Zedd, Jack U, and Knife Party. The festival is on Randall’s (Ward’s) Island, and is sure to be an exciting and energy filled weekend.

 

 

Moe.Down music festival in Upstate New York (musicfestivaljunkies.com)

If electronic music is not your style, then check out the Moe.Down festival happening the same weekend as Electric Zoo. The Moe.Down festival takes pride in its relaxed atmosphere, and is a time to come together with friends and family. The festival features 17 bands, including Lotus, O.A.R., and Soulive. This is a small, intimate festival where good music and good vibes are the goal of the weekend. Catskill Chill music festival in Upstate New York (glidemagazine.com)

Catskill Chill Music Festival in upstate New York. Not only is the festival set amongst a forested, nature filled atmosphere, it also has a lineup that is sure to please all kinds of music lovers. From folk, to reggae, to electronica, the Catskill Chill Music Festival has it all. The headliners include Lettuce, Yonder Mountain String Band, and The New Deal. The festival is an intimate setting with only 5,000 tickets sold, this ensures that the vibes are always laid back, and there is no need to stress about an overly crowded venue. The festival is set to take place September 5, 6, and 7 in Hancock, NY.
